Coronavirus Response Fund for Nurses
ER nurse Paramedic hit hard by Covid
I’ve been in EMS for 17 years and got my BSN and have been working as an ER nurse for the last 8 or 9 years. I ultimately chose to take on an agency nursing contract because I felt like there was more I could do to help out and went to New York because they were getting pummeled by this . Unfortunately after a few months I contracted a high viral count of Covid 19 from patients I had been taking care of. Ultimately I ended up with the illness, was hospitalized, intubated, placed on a ventilator for 11 or 12 days, and lived in an Intensive Care Unit for an additional few weeks because I was in chongestive heart failure, respiratory failure, septic, and several of my organ had taken a blow in the process.
Help Will Garcia Beat Cancer!!!!!!
Our beloved nurse, firefighter, father, and friend, William Garcia (34), has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma.
In August 2020, a sunspot on William’s back developed into Melanoma, which traveled to his lymph nodes underneath his left arm in November. Doctors removed the lymph nodes in late December 2020, and soon after, a PET Scan showed no signs of cancer anywhere in his body. We all thought he was clear of cancer. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
Memorial fund for our Krucial RN sister Yvette
Yvette Anderson, our Krucial RN sister, lost
her battle with COVID on Saturday,
February 27, 2021.
Like many of us, this beautiful soul
felt a calling to help care for those who are
critically ill with COVID. Unfortunately, she
too, became critically ill with COVID while
working as a Frontline Crisis RN.

Because Jill is Everyone’s Hero!
Our girl Jill is the most amazing human and bad ass nurse we know! She’s also the greatest mom, friend, confidant, advocate, fighter and hero as well. Yet she has been temporarily set back by this devil we call COVID. For the last 9 months she has been working shift after shift caring for the sickest of sick patients here in Utah - and unfortunately, COVID is no respecter of persons. Jill is a healthy, active, young person with no comorbidities. She is a nurse by trade but a mother at her core. She’s now entrenched in biggest fight of her life - and has three kiddos at home praying for her to come home to them. She is a nurse who we all lean on for help and is the greatest advocate for her patients. She recently graduated from NP school with high hopes to be able to help those who are in need - that is who Jill is. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, go the extra mile, all the while doing it with a smile on her face, and kindness in her heart.
CUIMC OR-ICU Healthcare Meals
Here at New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia, we are at the epicenter of the COVID-19 outbreak in the USA. There have been many amazing things happening here but one of them is the conversion of 24 operating rooms into intensive care units, named the OR-ICU. Everything about the creation of this unit is nothing short of a miracle, and it was done in just 60 hours to be able to accommodate the huge influx of patients requiring ventilators and ICU care.
House Fire
My sister Sarah lost her house on April 19, to a fire. Thankfully her husband and five kids made it out safely. However, they left the house with only a few items and the clothes on their backs. My sister is currently on the front line as a nurse during this pandemic, and now has the added burden of no house to go back to. We are asking any help, just so they can acquire some clothes and needed necessities. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
