Q: Any self care or mental health tips for new nurses?

A: Journal, take time to meditate and do yoga!

Q: What current events in the nursing field are you most passionate about?

A: It would definitely have to be patient advocacy and advocating for your patients rights. As a nurse, educating your patients to the fullest extent so they know everything that’s going on during their medical care is extremely important and unfortunately many do not receive that standard of care. As a masters prepared nurse, I am huge on education and informing the general population about their medical decisions. It brings me great pride to be able to translate, relay and navigate my patients through our complex healthcare systems and empower individuals to gain control over their health.
