What I love about nursing the most is that it's community of all types of nurses and designed to support each other and to share our stories and to help us improve our mental health or physical health or spiritual health and artisan or all over life experience as a nurse within the medical field at the hospital or an outpatient setting.

I'm gonna tell you a little bit about why it's important to start a group, whether it's a group on NurseDeck social or just an in person, group, a social group, whatever it might be, what other better ways to for people to access and get good quality healthcare information from then from nurses. So this is the impact in the scope and utilizing our scope of practice and the tremendous impact that we can make on the world to standing up and who we are, and sharing our knowledge, experience and stories with the rest of the world to promote health care.

And starting a group here on NurseDeck will allow you to just channel all of that knowledge that you have the experience and the incredible stories that you've had as an as a nurse, to the community to the group that you want to start. And it's so important because you can also find and discover what you might be passionate about.

Lets say you've always been passionate about learning more about nutrition and learning more about the science behind nutrition and the food that we eat was so great about finding and fostering a community of people hear on NurseDeck is that you find your people that are eager to learn from you. And you are more encouraged to learn more and research and read and sharing that information with your community, which allows you to have more knowledge yourself.

So without further ado, lets get into it, what were gonna do is pull up NurseDeck in your browser, and then in the top right hand corner, youre going to log in, and then in the other top right hand corner, hit that little plus signs on the bottom, and you'll hit that group, Create Groups button.

And with this, you're going to put the name of your group, you can also adjust like if its gonna be private, or public or even a secret group. I'm not really sure what what the color is. But here in the description is where you're going to spend most of your time.

And it's really important that you take the time here and really clearly define exactly why you're creating this group and what you want this group to be about so that you can attract the right people into this group. And obviously at that top, like that top bar, you can customize your text.

And I like to mix up the text a lot to grab peoples' attention. So like that bold heading. And then also use different like bullet points to really clearly identify what your intentions are. So that it's not just one whole big paragraph or somebody has to read, you know a whole bunch of information about your group, you want it to be very, very clear, concise, and defined exactly why you’re creating this group.

And this group, this is your group, it can be something to teach, it could be something to also like educate, educate, teach, and entertain, it could be an open discussion, it could be something that you discuss current events in nursing, whatever you want to create your group about, you want to just clearly define it in the description. Thats why I like to say spend spend some time here and understand exactly what type of people that you want in your group.

And the more clarity that you have here, the better it will be when people are finding what your group is going to be about. And I also like to end here with a call to action like join now or hop in our community or anything that just makes somebody feel welcome or make somebody feel like they want to join their group and in the community. So after that, it looks really good. You're going to hit the blue button at the bottom and it's going to be created. And obviously this is a test group here. So you can also search for members and add them to the group out of your friends. And you can only add the moderators that can also control that as well. But you can also see the pending members and the pending Post reporter.

As a moderator you can you have a lot of control over what is posted in your group. It could be a completely free group or people could post anything and everything or if you want to moderate it just to make sure people are posting exactly what you want. Especially when you’re wanting to attract the right people into your group, depending on what the group is, you’ll definitely want to customize it and add an image.
